There is a middle school near my house with 3 of them..all MK6s various colors. I always get waves by the drivers...but I wonder if they know each other.

They usually skip a generation. 1/2, 3/4, 6/7. Mk5 was a bit of an oddball, but the rest seem to come in pairs

5/6/7 are the closest to each other imo but they all share the general shape and styling cues like the grill badges and lights plus thick c/d pillar with no rear quarter windows and a squared off trunk
